EXERCISING FAITHText: Matthew 21:21-22, Romans 12:3
The subject “Faith” has many dimensions. However, to operate in any dimension whatsoever, there are primary fundamental truths that need to be established. The first is that Faith has a measure. Romans 12:3 says that God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.
This definitely means that no person has more faith than the other according to God’s measurement. But what then differentiates great faith from little faith? Or why does it look like some peoples’ faith produce greater result than others? This indeed is as a result of how much the faith of such individual has been exercised.
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Hebrews 11:1) This scripture shows two spectacular truths. The first being that “Faith comes”, this simply shows us that there is a possibility of attracting faith, which by definition is a strong conviction of the truth of a subject matter. The second spectacular truth is that there is a force that serves as an attraction of faith. This is the constant, continuous, deliberate hearing of the word of God. So the real question is what are you hearing? Are you consistently put in the environment where you can hear and hear the word of God constantly that it attracts a strong conviction on the inside of you to birth into physical reality the larges of God in your life?
Furthermore, Faith in itself is predicated upon the revelation of Jesus and His ability to attend to your situation, He himself, having passed through this world (Hebrews 12:2). However, no revelation of Jesus can be birthed outside of the written word of God (the Bible).
What then does that mean? It means that any promise of God you hear in your spirit will be in line with scriptures. Furthermore, receiving the promise is the first step in the process of faith, the next aspect is choosing to believe what God said he will do. This verily brings to mind the parable of the sower in Matthew 13 where Jesus explained the seeds that fell by the wayside as persons who hear the word but refuse to receive, believe it or accept it. The enemy then comes immediately to snatch it from their hearts. But if you believe the word of God, it will be made evident in your daily speech and confessions about yourself. The principle as enunciated in Joshua 1:8 will supernaturally operate in your life as you shall make your way prosperous and have good success. This is the kind of man that David describes as a blessed man in Psalm 1, whose delight is in the law of the Lord.
Choose to believe God today about that promise he made you, He is the Lord and there is nothing too hard for Him. Remember whomsoever will inherit the Kingdom of God must do so believing as a little child (Mark 10:15)
Finally, your confessions or proclamations in life are either an evidence of your belief or unbelief. Where they evidence your belief is strengthens your faith process and ignites your faith to be exercised.
