TOPIC: Tax, Tithe, Payment of Debt And Savings:
The government usually deducts taxes from the gross pay before you are paid. It is important for you to know the amount you pay as tax every month.
Tithes and Offerings are your obligatory but personal commitment to God. You should make provision for this too. Proverbs 3:9 talks about this, “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the First-fruits of all thine increase:”
Proverbs 3:9 KJV
If you owed any debts you should settle all or a part of it every month. You should also save for the future. Your savings are the funds for the future. Every family needs one. But I am sure you will begin to wonder how to do all these with your meagre income.
The answer is simple and sure. You can do it. The first thing you must know and get ingrained into your mind is that you can live a good, settled and promising life. Financial experts have devised a system of doing all you need to do within the limits of your income. Under this system, you First deduct your tax and tithes from your monthly salary, or gross profit as a business man or woman. You are at freedom to spend the remaining but do this wisely. The best income disbursement system you can adopt is 10-20-70 system.
10% of your income goes to your savings
20% of your income goes for the settlement of debt
70% of your income goes for variable spending normal regular living expenses.
This of course would be after your Tax and Tithe have been deducted.
Faith For Fund: “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”
Psalms 37:25 KJV
God has a grand plan for the provision of the needs in your family if you depend upon HIM.
Again, in Ecclesiastes 5:19 lies another promise of God’s provision for your family.
“Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.”
Ecclesiastes 5:19 KJV
There is a salient point here. God has given power to every man to rejoice in his Labour. This talks about Faithful Service.
Faithfulness In Service:
Every Christian must be fervent in his work. There are blessings that accrue to this.
“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.”
Proverbs 10:4-5 KJV
God esteems labour, especially among HIS children. Proverbs 12:14 talks about the blessing of labour.
“A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.”
Proverbs 12:14 KJV
God is willing to provide a job for any earnest seeker because HE has commanded “…., that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”
2 Thessalonians 3:10 KJV.
He also provides fund for the family of those who seek HIS Face through Prayer 🙏🏾
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”
Matthew 7:7 KJV
Moreover, Apostle Paul, in praying for the believers at Philippi, said in Philippians 4:19: “But my God shall supply all your need according to HIS riches in glory by Christ JESUS.”
Philippians 4:19 KJV
God’s riches are inexhaustible and dependable. If you pray in faith about your family needs, HE will surely answer.
Finally, God provides for family needs through the Hospitality of Others and Care of The Church. This point was very obvious and practicable in the Bible Days.
Deuteronomy 8:17-18 Reads:“And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is HE that giveth thee power to get wealth, that HE may establish HIS covenant which HE sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”
Deuteronomy 8:17-18 KJV.
When God blesses you remember the money is also a tool for the provision of the needs of the needy around you. Never allow money to assume a greater proportion than a tool in meeting needs in your life and those of others. Whatever you have, manage it with care and prudence. God will help you, and your family will attain financial freedom in JESUS Name Amen 🙏🏾
