First of all I have to thank each one of my readers for following the link to this post, especially those that have been keeping up with this issue from the beginning, it shows you have cared for the state of my home and I am very grateful.
Ever since the first post I wrote about this issue, we had a number of retweets, social Media shares, blogs and newspapers – most eminently the Vanguard Newspaper carry the information and thus there was a buzz. There is no underestimating the power of social media and this case was no different. It was literally upon the heels of the buzz that the police force suddenly took action and forced the bulldozers and landgrabbers out of the estate, and gave us a semblance of peace as compared to the imminent danger that covered the entire estate.
Then finally, the state government stepped in! The government confirmed that the disputed survey is faulty and cannot be used to execute judgement – aka the grounds upon which the destruction and unwarranted threats were founded upon were shoddy and so the execution of their rules was stopped. The government asked for those with broken fences to commence reparations and to take photos of the before and after for further actions.
EFCC has also taken an interest in the case – turns out a number of the chief perpetrators of this crime are wanted – thus they are on the run – meaning we are absolutely being left alone!
The state government re-affirmed that the laws against landgrabbing stand fast in Oyo State and have decided to make a scapegoat out of the harassers of Ire-Akari Estate.
Is the Lord not a good God? He most certainly is!
Thank you to everyone that reached out throughout the course of this case; I’m glad to say our prayers have been answered! I pray people will rally around you whenever you need them as you all did for us in JESUS Name!
Grace & Love,
ETP xo
