Hey people!
So I had an amazing time in Lagos last weekend! First off, I met up with my lovely secondary school friend Adeola Odeleye, who kindly welcomed me into her home – we hadn’t seen each other since 2006! It was so lovely staying with her family, everyone had such good memory and recognized me from when they last saw me in CRC; believe me I have a changed a whole lot Lool. My gratitude to my hosts cannot be over-emphasized, they are beautiful people with loving hearts.
So Saturday was the big day – #TDot17! It was the day of Tobi Ogundipe’s wedding, here’s a little back story – all four Ogundipes, Ore, Tobi, Ife and Yele went to Christ the Redeemer’s College (CRC) so it was basically a beautiful reunion that day! Saw so many people I had last seen over a decade ago and we have all certainly flourished since then haha. The wedding was Gatsby themed so there was lots of glitz and glamour – it was certainly a night to remember.
After a late but fulfilling night, my last day in Lagos was spent at the GTB Food & Drink Expo, which was held at Landmark Event Centre – it was amazing to see Nigerian food being well packaged and advertised on such a powerful platform, I have to commend the bank on their event, it’s something more establishments in Nigeria should certainly emulate! My hosts had a stand themselves in the Farmer’s market, “Nic’s Butchery” which is basically a Gbagada based meat business that delivers all over Lagos, their products are really wholesome and most especially inexpensive! Make sure you check them out on Instagram: @nicsbutchery
Is a big event in Lagos really a big event if you don’t bump into old friends? I was super happy to catch up with a couple friends from my old uni:
Idara & I met Chef Tolu! She’s his biggest fan!
All in all it was a brilliant weekend, as the old saying goes, Eko o ni baje!
